由端部進料口加入的物料，其粒度不能大于1/4的螺旋直徑；自中間進料口加料的物料，其粒度均不得大于30毫米。為保證筒體不產生變形，加料溫度必須控制在300℃以下。該機在輸送磨琢性大的物料時對葉片和料槽的磨損極為嚴重。本次所設計的螺旋輸送機主要用與輸送硅微粉其磨琢性很大所以不適宜采用螺旋管輸送機。
